It is now clear that the OMA’s “Gang Who Couldn’t Think Straight”, has progressed from stepping in every cow pie in it’s path to doing a full face plant.

It doesn’t matter what the spin doctors at OMA Central or their high priced legal help say, up to $6.1 million of members’ money has potentially been wasted on a move that was ill-considered, addle-pated, and unnecessary.

Those physicians in Ontario who are mere mortals generally wait until their leases are going to expire before they sign another lease or choose to move. They have to be careful since they’re spending their own money. Such conventional wisdom does not apply to the demi-gods inhaling the rarified atmosphere of the OMA headquarters.

If integrity were not in such short supply at OMA headquarters, those responsible for this “snafu” (an acronym that accurately describes the OMA’s modus operandi), would have already fallen on their swords, from the ineffectual CEO, through the bloated bureaucracy, to our so-called “leaders” who sit benighted  on the OMA’s board and executive cravenly cashing their honoraria cheques yet producing little but more boondoggles.

When the physicians of Ontario do not rise up in high dudgeon at this latest swan-dive, it will be a bitter indictment of how irrelevant the Ontario Medical Association has become.
